How to improve feelings of sadness and anxiety - Lung 1 and Heart 1

“Hello, I’m Dr. Raquel Muñoz.
Today I want to share with you two aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine that are wonderful for releasing emotions and balancing our energy.
We’ll talk about Lung 1 and Heart 1: where they are, what they do, and how you can stimulate them at home.
We’ll also see how emotions tell us about the state of our body and how medicinal plants can help us balance everything.”
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, every emotion is reflected in our body.
Sadness, anxiety, agitation… these don't appear by chance.
They are signals, alerts that something needs attention.
That's why, in addition to massaging the points, we can complement the practice with medicinal plants, which help us calm the mind and harmonize our energy.
Lung 1 is an incredible point.
It helps us release sadness, open the chest, and improve breathing.
When the Lung is blocked, several symptoms can appear:
- Shortness of breath, a feeling of suffocation
- Cough or phlegm in the chest
- Breathing problems such as asthma
- Sore or tightness in the throat
- Chest tightness
- Deep sadness
This point is located in the first space between the ribs, near the collarbone, at the top of the arm. It is delicate, so touch it gently and carefully.
Try this: gently place your fingers, take a deep breath, and make small circular massages.
Inhale, filling your chest with energy.
Exhale, releasing what no longer serves you.
One minute can make a big difference.
Heart 1 is another key point.
It helps us calm the mind, balance intense emotions, and protect our energetic heart.
It is often used when we feel:
- Anxiety
- Internal turmoil
- Emotional pain from a breakup or loss
- Insomnia
- Emotional blockage in the chest
- Nervousness or irritability
It is located in the armpit, right at the beginning of the heart meridian, on the inner part of the arm. Like Lung 1, it is massaged gently and with mindful presence.
Practice: Place your fingers, breathe deeply.
Inhale peace, exhale pain, anxiety, or tension.
A gentle smile helps relax the system and tells the body that it is safe.
Remember: emotions are not enemies. They are messages that guide us.
Lung 1 and Heart 1 are powerful tools for listening to and releasing these emotions.
And if you want to enhance the effects, combine the practice with medicinal plants that harmonize your physical and emotional energy.
I invite you to try these points every day and notice how your sense of calm and lightness changes.
