🌸 Tapping: A Simple Tool to Release Emotions and Restore Balance

27 de octubre de 2025

In recent years, tapping or EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) has become one of the most effective and accessible techniques to reduce stress, release blocked emotions, and restore mind–body balance. Its practice combines principles of Chinese Medicine, energy psychology, and neuroscience, bridging the emotional and physiological aspects.

What is Tapping?

Tapping involves gently stimulating certain energy points on the body—the same points used in acupuncture—while connecting with an emotion, thought, or situation causing discomfort.

This stimulation helps regulate the nervous system, reduce stress responses, and release emotional charge.

It’s like
“emotional acupuncture without needles.”

🪷 How to Practice Step by Step

1. Identify the issue or emotion
Pause for a moment and notice what you feel: anxiety, fear, sadness, guilt, anger, worry… Simply acknowledge what is present.

2. Assess intensity
On a scale of 0 to 10, rate how strong the emotion or discomfort feels. This will help you track changes afterward.

3. Create a focus phrase

Combine recognition of your feeling with an acceptance affirmation.

Example:

“Even though I feel this anxiety in my chest, I allow myself to be calm and open to letting go.”

4. Tap on the basic points
Using your fingertips, gently tap 6–8 times on each point while repeating the phrase or staying connected to what you feel:

  • Start of the eyebrow (between the eyes)
  • Side of the eye
  • Under the eye
  • Under the nose
  • Under the mouth (chin)
  • Collarbone (under the bone)
  • Under the armpit (about 10 cm down)
  • Top of the head
  • Side of the hand, after the distal joint of the 5th finger (Small Intestine 3 point)

Repeat the sequence several times, breathing deeply.

5. Reassess
At the end, notice how you feel. Intensity usually decreases or transforms. If emotional charge remains, repeat the process, adapting your phrase.

🌿 Benefits of Tapping

Scientific studies and clinical experience show that tapping can:

  • Reduce stress, anxiety, and insomnia
  • Decrease physical pain related to emotional tension
  • Increase calmness and mental clarity
  • Help manage fears, trauma, or emotional blocks
  • Improve focus and performance
  • Support personal change processes and mindful living habits

Energetically, tapping restores the harmonious flow of Qi (vital energy), which Chinese Medicine says can be blocked by repressed emotions or accumulated stress.

🌸 A Practice of Self-Compassion

Beyond a technique, tapping is an act of presence and self-compassion. It’s a way of saying to your body:

“I am here with you, I listen to you, and I allow you to release.”

Practiced regularly, it becomes a powerful self-care tool, especially during times of change or emotional load.

đź’§ Getting Started

You can practice for a few minutes daily in a quiet place, breathing deeply and without judgment.

If emotions are intense or old, it’s recommended to do it with a professional guide.

Tapping reminds us that we are not broken — just burdened —, and with presence, breathing, and mindful touch, we can release what the body holds and return to natural balance.
